Functional Spices
The spices are the heart of this chai
Real organic spices make up most of the blend—not just a small amount added to black tea. We choose these spices for their bold flavor and aroma, as well as their long history of use in Ayurveda and traditional wellness. We source them carefully and prepare them fresh to help preserve their natural oils, aroma, and vibrant flavor.
Beyond the spices: Raw cacao and carob add depth and body while naturally contributing plant compounds such as polyphenols. A small amount of Assam black tea rounds out the blend with familiar tea character and only about 13 mg of caffeine per serving.

Make The Perfect Cup of Chai ❤️
For the richest, most spice-forward flavor, simmer the blend on the stovetop.
- Boil: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, then stir in 1 Tbsp Chai Chai Love.
- Simmer: Cover and simmer on low for 10-20 minutes. The longer it simmers, the richer and bolder the flavor becomes.
- Add Milk: Add 1 cup of your preferred milk and heat until hot.
- Sweeten & Strain: Sweeten to taste, then strain into your cup and enjoy.
Makes approximately one 16 oz cup.

I’m Gurumustuk—most people call me G.
Growing up in India, chai was part of daily life—warm spices, time together, and the simple comfort of something made with care. The chai I grew up drinking wasn’t built around black tea, and I was also surrounded by the wisdom of Ayurveda, where spices and plants have long been part of everyday nourishment and well-being.
When I came back to America, so much of the chai I found was instant, very sweet, or mostly black tea with a little spice. I wanted to make something different: a chai where the spices were once again at the heart of it, combined with functional mushrooms and made with real ingredients. That became Chai Chai Love.
The “Love” part matters just as much. During a difficult transition in my own life, a few new friends showed me how much simple acts of connection and support can mean. That experience became part of the heart of this little family business. My hope is that every bag brings not only something nourishing to your daily routine, but also a small reminder to slow down, take care of yourself, and stay connected to the people around you.
FAQs
Why does ChaiChai Love have so little caffeine?
That’s intentional. Chai Chai Love is built around real spices and functional mushrooms rather than relying heavily on black tea. Our Original contains just a small amount of Assam tea, giving you about 13 mg of caffeine per serving, while our Caffeine-Free version contains none.
We created it for people who love chai but want the flavor and ritual without making caffeine the center of the experience.
What makes ChaiChai Love different from other mushroom-infused beverages?
Chai Chai Love starts with real chai ingredients—not an instant drink powder. The blend is built around certified-organic spices that you actually simmer, combined with 1,000 mg of Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga fruiting-body extracts per serving.
We use hot-water-extracted mushroom fruiting bodies with no grain or fillers, and they’re third-party tested for beta-glucans. Our Original also uses just a small amount of Assam black tea—about 13 mg of caffeine per serving—with no added sugar.
The result is a bold, spice-forward chai for people who want the flavor and ritual of real chai, functional ingredients, and the convenience of having everything already thoughtfully blended together.
Are the mushrooms in Chai Chai Love psychedelic?
No. Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, and Chaga are functional mushrooms—not psychedelic mushrooms. They do not contain psilocybin and won’t cause a psychedelic high.
We use certified-organic fruiting-body extracts for their naturally occurring compounds, including beta-glucans, as part of the wellness-focused blend.
Can I drink it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Chai Chai Love is made with real food ingredients, including traditional spices such as ginger, fennel, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric. Many of these spices have long histories of use in food and traditional wellness practices, including during pregnancy and postpartum.
The main reason we recommend checking with your healthcare provider is our functional mushroom extracts. Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga are non-psychoactive functional mushrooms, but there simply isn’t much research yet on concentrated mushroom extracts specifically during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Our Original is also very low in caffeine at about 13 mg per serving, and our Caffeine-Free version contains no caffeine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are highly individual, so if you’re expecting, nursing, taking medications, or managing a health condition, we recommend sharing the ingredient list with your healthcare provider to decide what’s right for you.
Can I drink it every day?
Yes. Chai Chai Love was created to be enjoyed as part of a daily wellness routine. Each serving combines real spices with 1,000 mg of functional mushroom extracts, and our Original has only about 13 mg of caffeine.
As with any food or functional ingredient, listen to your body and enjoy it in the amount that works for you. If you’re taking medications or managing a specific health condition, it’s always a good idea to check with your healthcare provider about ingredients that are new to your routine.
What is the sediment at the bottom of my cup?
A little sediment is completely normal—and it’s part of what makes Chai Chai Love different from an instant or highly filtered drink.
Our chai is made with real whole and ground spices plus functional mushroom extracts, so some of the finer particles naturally make it through your strainer and settle at the bottom. That can include cardamom, turmeric, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg, cacao, carob, and components from the mushroom extracts.
Those mushroom extracts contain naturally occurring compounds such as beta-glucans and other polysaccharides, which are part of what makes functional mushrooms so interesting from a wellness perspective. Research is also exploring how mushroom polysaccharides interact with the gut microbiome and may have prebiotic properties.
If you don’t mind a little texture, give your cup a gentle swirl and enjoy it. That’s what I do. If you prefer a smoother chai, simply use a finer strainer—but I don’t recommend sifting the dry blend before brewing, since you can remove a meaningful portion of the spices and mushroom extracts along with it.
Does Chai Chai Love taste like traditional masala chai?
Chai is incredibly personal, and recipes vary from family to family. Chai Chai Love is intentionally different from many tea-forward masala chais. Real organic spices make up most of our blend, while our Original contains only a small amount of Assam black tea.
The result is a bold, complex, spice-forward chai where ginger, fennel, cinnamon, cardamom and the other spices take center stage. If you’re used to a strong black-tea chai, expect something different—that difference is intentional and is part of our wellness-focused approach.
Can kids drink Chai Chai Love?
The mushrooms we use—Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga—are non-psychoactive functional mushrooms, not psychedelic mushrooms. The chai is also made with familiar food ingredients and traditional spices.
Our Original contains about 13 mg of caffeine per serving, while our Caffeine-Free version contains none. Because there is limited research specifically on functional mushroom extracts in young children, we recommend checking with your child’s healthcare provider if you have questions about whether it’s appropriate for them.
